In September 2016, England’s Harry Kane made his first appearance for the Three Lions in a World Cup qualifier against Slovakia and since then, the striker has gone on to score 18 goals in 15 qualifying fixtures.
Such is his record, only Robert Lewandowski and Cristiano Ronaldo have netted more qualifying goals among European players.
Here, we take a look back at each of those goals after the skipper found the back of the net in Thomas Tuchel's first game in charge.
England 2-0 Albania

The Thomas Tuchel era got off to a winning start as England ran out 2-0 winners over Albania at Wembley Stadium in their quest to reach the 2026 FIFA World Cup in North America.
And Kane doubled the Three Lions’ tally in the second half – after Myles Lewis-Skelly opened the scoring on his debut – to impress the new boss with an expertly-taken finish from close range in the 77th minute.

San Marino 0-10 England

The England captain was tied with Gary Lineker on 48 goals for his country by the time he’d put four past San Marino, with only Sir Bobby Charlton and Wayne Rooney to beat.
The Three Lions hit double figures in their 2022 World Cup qualifier in Serravalle as Kane became the fourth player to notch back-to-back hat-tricks for England. He opened his account in the 27th minute from the spot and just before the break, wrapped up his treble.

England 5-0 Albania

Kane took home the match ball after bagging a first-half hat-trick against Albania in front of a packed-out Wembley Stadium, putting Gareth Southgate’s since within touching distance of the World Cup in Qatar.
The striker broke yet another record – Wayne Rooney’s this time – as he moved level with Jimmy Greaves on 44 goals for England. He rippled the net in the 18th minute, adding his second with 32 minutes played and completing the feat on the stroke of half time.

Poland 1-1 England

The 31 year old was on target once again for England, who conceded a last gasp equaliser against Poland – having previously maintained a 100% record in Group I – as Kane broke the deadlock for the Three Lions with 72 minutes on the watch.
Extending his record to 15 goals in consecutive qualifiers for major tournaments, it was a spectacular strike as the forward took aim from 25 yards out to find the bottom corner.

England 4-0 Andorra

Goal number 40 in an England shirt came against Andorra on home turf at Wembley as Southgate’s men made it five wins on the spin in Group I of their World Cup 2022 qualifiers.
With Jesse Lingard having already opened the scoring, the striker, who came on in place of Patrick Bamford, doubled his side’s advantage in the 72nd minute from the penalty spot, with England going on to win 4-0.

Hungary 0-4 England

England topped Group I with four wins in as many games en route to the 2022 World Cup with Kane – one of four different goal scorers – heading in England’s second goal of the night in Budapest.
He combined with Raheem Sterling, who scored England’s first goal of the game earlier in the second half, in the 63rd minute.

England 2-1 Poland

When referee Björn Kuipers pointed to the spot after Sterling was brought down in the box against Poland, it teed up Kane for his 34th international goal as the striker calmly dispatched from 12 yards with 19 minutes gone.
The visitors to Wembley later equalised but Harry Maguire grabbed a late winner for the Three Lions.

Albania 0-2 England

After being made to wait almost 500 days to ripple the net for England, Kane ended his drought against Albania, making the scoresheet in the 38th minute and providing an assist for Mason Mount in a 2-0 victory.
After converting Luke Shaw’s cross in the first half, he had a helping hand in Mount’s goal in the second half as the Three Lions made it 23 games unbeaten in the World Cup qualifiers and counting.

Lithuania 0-1 England
8 October 2017
Having already secured their place at the 2018 World Cup in Russia, England signed off their qualifying campaign with victory over Lithuania and a Harry Kane penalty was the difference between the two teams.
The skipper stepped up after Dele Alli was fouled, scoring the only goal of the game mid-way through the first period.

In the game that confirmed England’s place at the World Cup, it was Kane to the rescue as he struck in injury time to ensure Southgate’s team would be heading to Russia the following summer, making it 11 goals in 22 appearances for the Three Lions and eight in his last four outings for club and country.
The in-form striker popped up in the 94th minute at Wembley with an important goal in Group F, which England went on to win.

Malta 0-4 England

A brace was on the cards for Kane when England travelled to Malta, looking to take a step closer to World Cup qualification.
The striker got the Three Lions up and running 53 minutes in and his second goal of the game came in injury time – while also setting up Danny Welbeck for England’s third – as Southgate’s side put in a dominant display.

A strike that he holds in high regard as one of his favourite goals he’s ever scored, Kane’s injury-time equaliser against Scotland put paid to an entertaining match-up between the two teams that ended in a 2-2 draw at Hampden Park in front of over 48,000 fans.
Wearing the armband for England, the skipper levelled in the 93rd minute after Leigh Griffiths thought he’d won the game for Scotland with two late goals.
