Aggie Beever-Jones reflects on 'surreal' first goal
The forward returned to her old stomping ground in Bristol to score her first goal for the England senior squad
MATCH CENTRE: ENGLAND v BELGIUM
England’s Aggie-Beever Jones described her first goal for the senior side in tonight’s 5-0 victory over Belgium as ‘surreal’ after the forward came off the bench in the second half to make the scoresheet.
With 67 minutes played, the Chelsea star rippled the net to put the Lionesses in a commanding position after Lucy Bronze and Millie Bright had England 2-0 up in the first half.
And it was a moment to remember for Beever-Jones who has scored 11 goals for her club and counting so far this season.

“I can’t quite believe it, it hasn’t hit me just yet,” said the 21 year old. “I can’t believe it, I need five or 10 minutes to soak it all in but I am absolutely delighted.”
And she wasn’t the only player who hit a milestone earlier this evening. Keira Walsh also got off the mark for the Lionesses and it was long overdue for Beever-Jones’ Chelsea team-mate.
“I think I was more buzzing for Keira (Walsh) for her scoring her first goal,” continued Beever-Jones. “I have said to her for the longest amount of time, ‘you have got to shoot more in training’. She is one of the most technical players I have seen.”
For Beever-Jones, it was a moment made even more special by her connection to the south west and Ashton Gate, having spent time on loan at Bristol City during the 2021-22 season.

“I don’t know if people know, but I was actually on loan at Bristol and have played at this stadium before and scored before and I'd be lying if I didn’t say I had a bit of a good feeling coming into it,” explained Beever-Jones.
“I think for me, I pride myself with keeping my feet on the ground and working hard and with a lot of hard work you get moments like this. I am so happy that I took it well.
“I have had people around me, I have Niamh (Charles) behind me who has helped me so much the last however many years. But it is so surreal and an absolutely dream come true.”
