Play On is an England Football initiative designed to help clubs and approved providers work in partnership with schools to support the transition (movement) of girls from school football into community football.
It is a suggested 8-week intervention, with the first 6 weeks of girl’s football sessions delivered by the club/approved provider on the school site. The final 2 weeks are at the club/provider site. However, this model can be adapted to meet the local preferences.
The Play On initiative is available all year round for clubs and approved providers to sign up. You will require the school contact email address to submit the sign-up form. You can reach out to your County FA to support you with obtaining contact details and helping you to establish a relationship with your school.

Benefits of signing up to Play On:
• Create a relationship with your local school for the recruitment of girls to your club teams, Wildcats sessions, or Squad Girls’ Football sessions.
• Receive free resources including Play On session plans for either primary or secondary school sessions, an equipment pack worth £250, a template letter to provide to the school, and template consent form.

We hope you enjoy delivering the Play On initiative and establish a successful relationship with your local school for the recruitment of girls. On week 8 of your session delivery, we will reach out to you with a survey to see how many girls took part and how many girls have decided to join your club.
