The Lionesses forward made an impression during the victory over Ireland in Norwich

Match report: England v Republic of Ireland

Jess Park was pleased to help England pick up the points as the Lionesses took another step towards qualification for EURO 2025 with a victory over Republic of Ireland.

The Manchester City forward was in impressive form at Carrow Road, as goals from Alessia Russo and Georgia Stanway put England two goals up before a last-minute goal saw Ireland reduce the arrears, much to the frustration of boss Sarina Wiegman.

“The job's done, we got the three points,” said Park.

“We are disappointed to have conceded that goal but we had lots of opportunities to put the ball in the net and we're happy with the three points."

The 22 year old has had to bide her time in waiting for a chance to impress since making her senior debut in November 2022.

And she admits that she enjoyed the opportunity to show what she can do, ahead of next Tuesday’s final qualifier with Sweden.

“Yeah, I loved every second of it,” she added.

“You know I always want to be on the field so it was a real good game tonight.

“I’m always ready [to play] and I’m always trying to do whatever I can on the training field to get me on the pitch.”

The squad will now turn their attention to the game in Gothenburg, where England will be able to secure their place at next summer’s EURO Finals in Switzerland if they can get a result.

“We’re so focused,” she said.

“You know we’ve been focused, we’ve been in prep camps and working really, really hard and obviously we just want to get those three points.”
