Sarina Wiegman, Mary Earps and Beth Mead have all been named as finalists for The Best FIFA Football Awards 2022.

The trio were among a host of English players and coaches named in the initial list of nominees when it was revealed in mid-January.

This week the three finalists for each category have been released on different days and England will have three women in contention for awards when they are crowned on Monday 27 February in Paris.

Lionesses head coach Sarina Wiegman is up for The Best FIFA Women’s Coach for a sixth consecutive year, having won the award in 2017 and 2020. She is joined in the final three by Lyon’s Sonia Bompastor and Pia Sundhage of the Brazilian National Team.

Star forward Beth Mead is a finalist in The Best FIFA Women’s Player of 2022 alongside Alex Morgan and Alexia Putellas, while Mary Earps is in the final three of The Best FIFA Women’s Goalkeeper award with Chelsea’s Ann-Katrin Berger and Lyon’s Christiane Endler.

The finalists were voted for by a jury comprising the current coaches and captain of all women’s and men’s national teams, one specialist journalist from each territory represented by a national team, and fans registered on FIFA.com.
