September squads to be named this week

England fans will be able to see the men’s (senior) team back at Wembley Stadium connected by EE next month, as four youth teams are also in action during September.

And fans won’t have to wait long to see who will be taking to the field, as Gareth Southgate, new men’s Under-21 boss Lee Carsley and the other three England youth bosses name their squads later this week.

Southgate’s men will be returning to Wembley Stadium for the first time since the EURO 2020 final when they face Andorra on Sunday 5 September, with another two FIFA World Cup qualifiers away to Hungary and Poland either side.

The men’s senior squad is due to be named at 2pm on Thursday 26 August, with the MU21, MU20, MU19 and MU18 squads being revealed the following day.

For the MU21, the trip to Romania on Friday 3 September will be Carsley’s first game in charge, following his promotion from the MU20s, and he will be joined in the dugout by his assistant and England legend Ashley Cole.

Carsley and the 107-cap former Chelsea star will then have the chance to lead out MU21s in front of home fans at Stadium MK four days later, with tickets for the UEFA U21 EURO qualifier on Tuesday 7 September already on sale.
