Midfielder lands BT England men's senior player of the year award for 2021
Kalvin Phillips has been voted the 2020-21 BT England men’s player of the year.

The honour caps a breakthrough period on the international stage for the Leeds United midfielder who has risen from the EFL Championship to become a Three Lions regular in the space of a year.

England fans voted for the 25 year old ahead of Mason Mount and Raheem Sterling in second and third respectively.

Having made his debut against Denmark in September 2020, Phillips has gone on to win 15 caps.

The Yorkshireman started every game of England’s run to the UEFA EURO 2020 final, gaining plenty of plaudits along the way.

The tournament followed his debut season in the top flight for his boyhood club.

Phillips was presented with his award at St. George’s Park in the build up to the Three Lions’ 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Hungary, Andorra and Poland.

The 2020-21 BT England women’s player of the year will be announced ahead of the Lionesses’ 2023 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against North Macedonia and Luxembourg in September.
